Description:

IC locus (improper coat) for some breeds (such as the Portuguese Water Dog), presents a dog with a lack of density in the coat (furnishing) and has short hair on the head, face and lower legs, rather than a thick, even coat covering the entire body. In some other breeds, the phenotype is desirable.

The dog's genotype also depends on a combination of the L, Cu and IC loci
